Another year has come and gone. 2016 certainly has been quite the wild ride hasn't it? So as we all reflect on this year and look back at it, there's only one thing to say about this year.
THANK GOD IT'S FINALLY OVER! Anybody out there who tells you that the journey is more important than the destination never had to go through a year like this!
2016 has, for a lack of better term, been utter garbage all the way through. If you really think about it, this year has been nothing shot of a complete and total mess. The Grim Reaper going on a rampage taking so many top stars (Carrie Fisher dying was the final straw for me.) A presidential election that people won't shut up about (especially mainstream media.) YouTube coming under fire for some of the crap they've put out such as YouTube Heroes and some other stuff. It's been a really miserable year all around with little good coming out of it. As bad as this year is though, there are a couple of good things at the end of it all.
1: Cleveland ends its championship drought after 52 years. I don't like the Cavs, but it was nice to see them finally win something for Cleveland after all this time.
2: The Cubs win the World Series. Not much into baseball, but I have a huge soft spot for the Cubbies. The final play was something I'll always remember and it was damn good to see the Cubs finally emerge at the top after 108 years.
3: Pokemon GO! It does have its issues, but I do like playing the game. I contribute this game to the reason my cardio is better than before. I just wish I could catch Lapras and Aerodactyl.
4: Pokemon Sun and Moon. I own Moon and it is a lot of fun. I started it not too long ago, and am having a great time with it. Being somebody who hasn't played a proper Pokemon game in years, it was nostalgic to me and I am enjoying the game so far.
5: Rogue One. As a huge Star Wars fan, this movie is the best way to bridge the events shortly before A New Hope. It does a great job telling us how the Rebels got the Death Star plans, and I enjoyed it immensely. If you haven't seen it yet, you owe it to yourself to sit down and watch it.
Really, this year has just been a complete and total dumpster fire. We've all been affected in some way by 2016 and how terrible it's been. It did have a few minor highlights here and there, but this year has been nothing short of being dreadful. Hopefully 2017 can be better than this garbage. So with that, goodbye, 2016, and good fucking riddance.
